Former President Donald Trump was unfazed by an attack from Vice President Kamala Harris early in the debate, suggesting it was a boilerplate response and a “sound bite” given to her by her advisers.
“I want you to know that Donald Trump doesn't have a plan for you, because he's more interested in protecting himself than he is in taking care of you,” Harris said after attacking Trump on the economy.
“That was just a quick statement. They just made her say it,” Trump said.
“I went to the Wharton School of Finance, and many of the professors there, top professors, think my plan is a great plan,” Trump said. “It's a great plan. It's a plan that will increase our values, our values as a country. It's going to make people want to work, it's going to create jobs, it's going to generate a lot of good, solid money for our country.”
Trump then slammed Harris's skeleton policy platform, posted on her campaign website on Sunday, 49 days after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race due to behind-the-scenes pressure from Democratic Party bosses, Hollywood elites and donors.
“Finally, I'll say, she has no plan. She just copied Biden's plan, which is four sentences like, 'Run, run,'” Trump quipped. “Four sentences just say, we're going to try to lower your taxes. She has no plan. Look at her plan. She has no plan.”
Breitbart News noted that Harris' plan clearly plagiarizes parts of Biden's campaign pledges.
