The Kansas City Chiefs had a rough go of it in the 2025 season.

After reaching the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year in February 2025, the team found themselves missing the playoffs for the first time in over a decade last season.

“We really struggled with consistency on offense throughout the game,” Mahomes, 30, mentioned during a press conference following his knee surgery. “…It’s something we need to improve, and that starts with me.”

While the quarterback holds a significant amount of responsibility, general manager Brett Veach has made considerable efforts this offseason to ensure that Mahomes, along with Travis Kelce, Creed Humphrey, Chris Jones, and Nick Bolton, have the support they need.

In recent months, Veach has aggressively pursued talent, bringing in Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III, safety Alohi Gilman, defensive tackle Kyris Tonga, and cornerback Kader Kohou to strengthen Andy Reid’s already skillful roster.

Now they just need to win.

One would think that with a disappointing 6-11 season, a simple schedule might be in store.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case. According to Yahoo Sports, Kansas City faces the fifth-toughest route to the postseason among all 32 NFL teams this season.

Some of the formidable opponents include Bo Nix’s Denver Broncos (September 14), Justin Herbert’s Los Angeles Chargers (October 18), Drake Maye’s New England Patriots (December 21), Brock Purdy’s San Francisco 49ers (December 27), and Francisco Mendoza’s Las Vegas Raiders (January 9 or 10), all scheduled to visit GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

If you want to see if Reid’s squad can bounce back, tickets for all eight 2026 home games at Arrowhead Stadium are available now.
