This past weekend, Turning Point USA held its annual America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona. “Blaze News Tonight” host Jill Savage and Blaze News Editor-in-Chief Matthew Peterson attended the event, along with political commentator, lawyer and Ten Talents International founder Eric We spoke to a wide range of people, including Mehek Cook, host of The Metaxas Show. ” and Eric Metaxas of “Socrates in the City,” and Daily Wire host Michael Knowles.
In their conversation with Knowles, Jill and Matthew asked their fellow commentators what they expected from Trump's second term.
Most importantly, “he has to deport a lot of people,” Knowles said. “Most Americans want mass deportation. Mass deportation is now the mainstream political view of the majority.”
Once that is achieved, the next promise that must be fulfilled is to “expel bureaucrats from the administrative state.''
Knowles is confident that Trump will follow through on this promise because he has already “invented a new branch of government with Elon Musk to make it happen.”
Knowles said the third thing on Trump's to-do list is to actually implement the tariffs he promised.
“Whether it's tactical tariffs or full-fledged tariffs that increase revenue, I think he has to do that, because this is probably the most sophisticated thing he's done in a presidential campaign. “It's a responsible marketing move,” he told Jill and Matthew.
“He's saying, 'There's going to be some short-term economic problems for certain groups, but we need to protect American workers.' Making sure we're not cut off is… It's in our long-term economic and national security interests. We've all seen how completely dependent on foreign countries can be when supply chains are disrupted during COVID-19. '' explains Knowles.
“Mr. Trump is a very impressive person, [but] I don't think even he can do more than that. ”
