As reported by ESPN, it seems that the Indiana Fever won’t be taking the court for a few more weeks.
Holly Rowe shared during Sunday’s nationally broadcasted game that the third week of August might provide a good opportunity for WNBA stars to make a comeback.
This season, Clark has faced multiple injuries, with the most recent being a right groin injury that sidelined her since July 15th.
“I met with a specialist last week, and thankfully, no new injuries showed up in the exams and scans,” said Stephanie White. She added that they plan to be particularly cautious in how they approach Clark’s return, allowing her ample time to build her conditioning and get back into sync with her team.
“Looking at their schedule, the third week of August offers some practice days that seem to align better for Kate Linklark’s possible return,” she noted, advocating for a patient approach as they monitor her daily progress.
Although Clark missed playtime, she attended the game, an anticipated matchup as her team faced off against Angel Reese’s squad. Interestingly, Reese was also out due to a back injury.
Footage from the arena showed Clark interacting with fans, wherein she seemed genuinely engaged, signing autographs for nearly everyone who approached her.
Sports broadcaster Kylen Mills reported that Clark spent about 20 minutes signing autographs for fans in Chicago.
At one point, she attempted to maneuver through the security staff towards a tunnel but seemed determined to continue interacting with fans.
The Fever achieved a significant victory over the Sky, winning 93-78.
