George Joseph Kresge Jr., known as “The Amazing Kreskin,” has died. He was 89 years old.
Kresge's friend and former road manager Ryan Galway said Kresge died at his home in Caldwell, New Jersey. The cause of death is unknown.
Inspired by the crime-fighting cartoon character Mandrake the Magician, Kresge began his television career in the 1960s, appearing on talk shows hosted by everyone from Merv Griffin to Johnny Carson to Jimmy Fallon. He made guest appearances and remained popular for decades.
