Jordan Discusses Criminal Referral on Hannity

On a recent episode of FNC’s “Hannity,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who heads the House Judiciary Committee, touched on the criminal referral concerning Thomas Windham, previously a senior special counsel under former special counsel Jack Smith.

Jordan suggested that Windham likely authorized surveillance on then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“How many individuals were under surveillance?” host Sean Hannity probed. “Do you believe they followed the correct legal process for obtaining a warrant?”

Jordan responded, “Sean, I’m not convinced that the list of members of Congress and other Americans that have been monitored is anywhere near complete, but this situation is particularly troubling. AT&T also sent a letter regarding this. Just think about it: leaders from the Legislature, members of the opposition party, and the Democratic Party going after the leading Republican two weeks after he became Speaker of the House—that’s quite something. And here’s the thing about Chairman McCarthy: the tracking we saw for other U.S. senators and members of Congress occurred over three days in January. However, the tracking against McCarthy stretched from Election Day in 2016 all the way to January 8, 2021. That’s quite significant for the Republicans being targeted.

“My hunch is that the person behind the subpoena, whose name is redacted, is likely Thomas Windham, as he tracked Scott Perry’s phone. Perry served in the U.S. House of Representatives and had a 14-year tenure on the Intelligence Committee, plus he’s a military veteran,” he elaborated. “They monitored his phone, and we received a form indicating the intent to conduct surveillance prior to them seizing his phone. Interestingly, it suggested they wanted to spy on Scott a week ahead of time. So it’s clear; they surveilled someone in their workplace, the U.S. Capitol. So, the same individual we discussed targeting Scott Perry is probably the one who went after the Speaker of the House, the leading Republican in the Legislature.”
