Liberal parties across the nation are horrifying, but conservatives couldn't be satisfied with President Donald Trump's executive order to end the Department of Education.
The move will bring education back to the state, prioritize parents over bureaucrats, and protect resources for children with disabilities. And Erica Donald, chairman of the Center for Educational Opportunities at the American First Policy Institute, is excited.
“The biggest victory, what Republicans have been looking for over the past 45 years is literally this executive order and Trump is committed to closing the Department of Education to the American people,” Donald told Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson in “Blaze News to Tonight.”

This move is exciting, but it won't come without a serious pushback.
“Some strong interests will oppose it and will have for a very long time. Teachers unions and in fact all the huge things in the government will oppose it,” Peterson says.
“Well, remember that the president issued an executive order on school choices before the executive order to close the department,” Donald replies. “We will also see some guidance from the Department of Education over the coming weeks on how some of these federal funds can be used to enhance school selection.”
“Now we will continue to use it in bureaucracy in the blue state, perhaps more controlled by teacher unions.
“But in the red states, in states that accept school choices, parents will have more options and more funds along the line,” she adds.
Donald believes that what this brings is a family that moves over school choices.
“Think about Florida. If you have three kids, you can send $9,000 per child to a private school. You can get zero dollars to support private schools just above the Georgia border,” she explains.
“If you live near the Georgia border, I'll go to Florida to help my kids get a better education,” she adds.
