‘The Caitlin Clark Effect’ Is So Massive That It’s Out Here Competing Against The NFL For Television Ratings

If you're still in doubt, the “Caitlin Clark Effect” has officially been verified.

The Indiana Fever's superstar rookie is setting new records in ticket sales, TV ratings and merchandise sales. And she's also putting up historic numbers on the basketball court. But the “Caitlin Clark effect” goes even further: She's still pulling in astounding TV ratings, even as she takes on the NFL. The Fever played the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, a game broadcast on Ion. Indiana lost. 99-88.

The game, paired with the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles playing in Brazil, drew 1.26 million viewers, making it the third-most-watched WNBA game in Ion history.

This is amazing. I never thought we'd see the day where we could legitimately compete with the NFL, let alone the WNBA, but here we are.

And when you look just at Caitlin Clark, you see her footprint, she's not only impacting women's basketball, women's sports, she's impacting sports itself.

The hate will continue, but the woman clearly deserves a bouquet.
