The Chosen’s Nick Shakoour has Spiritual Awakening

actor famous for Chosen person has opened up about his faith journey, saying he had never had a personal encounter with Jesus before landing the role on the hit Bible-based series and was influenced by Christians behind the scenes.

Nick Shakur, who plays Zebedee, told Christian Headlines that the series had a huge impact on his life. His character is James and John's father.

“It was a big change,” Shakur told Christian Headlines, referring to his life.

Creator and director Dallas Jenkins, a self-described evangelical, has been open about the series employing Christians and non-Christians alike in its cast and crew, and his goal is to hire the best people for each position. He said that this is true.

Although he grew up in a Christian environment, Shakur said he had never personally converted. He told Christian Headlines that he was influenced by filming the movie. Chosen person It is by the “behind-the-scenes believers” and “their friends and those who run around in their circles and begin to seek God through them.”

“Then it all added up to last September when I was invited to a church conference, and before I knew it, a bunch of people were surrounding me, laying their hands on me, and starting praying.” Shakur told Christian Headline. “And I was able to experience what it was like to have the Holy Spirit go from the outside in. And my body was on fire with the Holy Spirit.”

The experience was overwhelming, he said.

“It felt like all my organs were being fried and being vibrated and microwaved at the same time,” he said. “That's the best way I can explain it.”

Shakur said he feels like a new person.
