Last year, I had the opportunity to participate with several Liberty University students in the 50th March for Life in Washington, DC. Although I was not able to participate in this year’s march, the memories of that day are still vivid in my memory. Being able to join thousands of people celebrating and protecting life in the womb was incredibly gratifying and moving, and I can’t recommend it enough.
However, to get the most out of your march, you need to be prepared. If you’re planning on attending a march in the future, I’ve put together some tips from my experience.

plan your trip
When planning your trip to Washington, look for organizations that accept students. Your university may also have one. for example, stand for freedom center Approximately 1,000 Liberty University students participated in the 2024 March for Life. The center paid for all transportation, breakfast, lunch, water, and Liberty-branded beanies. Not a bad deal.
Keep in mind that if you choose to go without organization, it can be difficult to get there. The subway may be a better option than a private car or Uber, as road closures make an already terrible traffic situation even worse. Please arrive at the march in plenty of time, especially if you wish to attend the rally in advance. For more information on travel, lodging, and event schedules, visit March’s official website.

About belongings and clothes
January in Washington is cold, with temperatures typically in the mid-20s to mid-40s. Check the weather forecast. But no matter what the weather forecast says, I’m going to dress in layers. This is a lesson I learned the hard way. Likewise, wear weather-resistant shoes. Don’t be that guy who shows up to walk miles in tennis shoes through sludge and snow. There were many such incidents this year. And they probably regretted it.

Why not bring in a handmade sign? You absolutely can! There’s something so exhilarating about marching for a cause while holding up a sign with your favorite slogan that you took the time to make. However, if you come empty-handed, there are many pro-life organizations that will provide you with Instagram-worthy placards.
If you have a bag, be sure to hang it cross-body. Although the march is a safe event with a strong police presence, Washington remains a large city with a significant crime rate. Also, water is not readily available, so I recommend carrying a water bottle or two with you.
how to prepare mentally
I didn’t encounter many counter-protests, but it seems like that happens every year. So you can tell your parents not to worry. Still, there’s nothing wrong with choosing this occasion as an excuse to step up your pro-life apologies. The March for Life organization has a wealth of activities. information Meanwhile, the Standing for Freedom Center offers Christian rebuttals to 10 of the most common pro-abortion arguments. argument. Live Action also has a wealth of articles and facts to help you express your thoughts more clearly. position.

While developing your debate skills, don’t neglect prayer, which goes very well with marching. My school distributed pamphlets to us detailing how to pray for unborn children, mothers and fathers, the church and pro-life ministries, and governing authorities. There is power in prayer. It is best to get your heart right with the Lord before trying to change the world.
I hope you find this information useful if you decide to attend next March. I hope so again.
In the words of Liberty University classmate Grant May, who marched with the Standing for Freedom Center: “Today, a third of my generation is missing because of abortion. That’s why it’s so important that we speak up and speak up for those who can’t. “Let’s speak up for ourselves. The march was incredibly high energy, but at the same time It was solemn. We were letting our elected leaders know that it is long past time to abolish the pagan practice of infant sacrifice and return to a time when everyone had a voice. They have equal protection under the law, regardless of their stage of life. ”
