Jeffrey Owens recently opened up about his financial struggles during a TV appearance. V-103 Atlanta big tigger morning show.

“I actually left Trader Joe's before this news broke,” Owens explained. “It was weird because someone was taking pictures in the store. …And I thought, this is falling apart, so I don't feel comfortable working in this store thinking, who's going to have a camera?” No. That would be too weird. I'm a very private person.”
He continued, “I didn't quit because I knew I was going to make a lot of money right away. I just felt like I couldn't stand that kind of scrutiny and attack on my privacy.”
After the incident, Owens recalled receiving tremendous support and opportunities. Entertainment luminaries like Tyler Perry offered him roles, including an appearance on the OWN drama. haves and have notsMeanwhile, Nicki Minaj gave him $25,000, which he decided to donate to charity because “it felt like the right thing to do at the time.”
Owens spoke positively about his time at Trader Joe's, calling it “a great place to work.” He even revealed that he had come back to request a shift, but did not confirm whether he would be rehired.
“As we speak, I'm still struggling to make a living. I'm struggling every day to make ends meet,” he said. “And people don't understand that because they see me in movies, whether it's Mr. Santa or on CBS's 'Poppa's House.' All the TV shows and everything else. People have the impression that they're making good money. What's the problem? Why are you in financial trouble? 'They don't understand how my industry works in detail. ”
When host Big Tigger brought out the residual check, cosby showOwens clarified that they “weren't particularly great to me” because they “did maybe 20% of the show.”
She also referenced the numerous sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby, adding, “And what happened to Bill also caused the show to be canceled for a while.” “People have a false impression of what the average, what I would call a middle-class actor, does and their ability to make a living in the industry.
