AJ and Big Justice: From Viral Sensations to Wrestling Stars

It’s been quite an adventure for AJ and Big Justice, who some might recognize as the “Costco Man” of social media fame. In just 18 months, they’ve transitioned from regular family content creators to wrestling personalities, all thanks to their engaging presence on platforms like TikTok. Their involvement in wrestling has certainly turned heads.

The father-son duo recently became the official brand ambassadors for the Great Clips “Back-to-Touring Campaign.” They took some time to chat with those in the wrestling industry, exploring the trends in haircuts, which seems to be an essential topic as summer wraps up.

When the announcement came that they would be joining the AEW roster, it sparked quite a bit of skepticism. People often have reservations when social media influencers enter wrestling, as previous attempts haven’t always panned out. But what many didn’t realize is that AJ had a solid background in wrestling prior to this.

Over the course of six years, AJ wrestled alongside numerous independent wrestlers in the Northeast and even had matches with some well-known names like Jim Nadart and Simon Diamond.

“We really kept everything under wraps, didn’t we?” AJ reflects. “When our TikTok channel started getting traction and people uncovered old footage of my matches, it was exciting. I thought it could lead to something small within independent wrestling.”

AJ and Big Justice played a significant role during AEW’s ALL-IN TEXAS event, with AJ stepping into the ring and making notable appearances alongside wrestlers like Trent Beretta. Fans quickly recognized AJ’s wrestling skills and were willing to accept him.

The duo’s unique approach to their content sets them apart. AJ emphasized that he wanted his son to have a central role and a genuine voice in their videos, especially in a space where many family entertainers often focus on the adults. This included showcasing Big Justice’s baseball passion.

“I love wrestling; it’s my second favorite,” Big Justice shares. “When I’m on the baseball field, I feel just as energized as I do in the ring. I’m really excited about baseball, and it’s a challenge aiming for success at the college level and eventually in the MLB.”

With their partnership with Great Clips, they’re set to help promote the “Back-to-School” campaign, sharing tips for haircuts that kids—and their parents—might consider as summer draws to a close. Big Justice had a straightforward tip for children: “skin fading.” He added, “It’s still summer, and it’s hot, but I’ll have hair by the time school starts.”

AJ, on the other hand, is less about trends and more about maintaining a polished look. “If you’ve got a bit of grey showing, just get rid of it. Trim it off, keep it neat. Use hairspray instead of gel—it weighs you down,” he advised.

In AEW, one notable aspect is the depth of talent in the locker room, with many performers coming from years in the independent circuit. While there’s often resistance to influencers joining the scene, AJ and Big Justice were pleasantly surprised by the warm reception they received.

“As soon as we arrived, everyone was so welcoming!” exclaimed Big Justice, beaming. “Will Ospreay was especially nice. I mean, everyone in AEW was kind to us, but what about MJF? He was a bit elusive. We hardly saw him!”

For AJ, wrestling is deeply meaningful, and he’s determined to prove his worth. “When we showed up in Chicago, people were skeptical, wondering if we were just typical TikTokers looking for fame,” he noted. “But when they saw us perform during the Grand Slam and Full Gear events, they recognized that we belong.”

It’s clear that both AJ and Big Justice have a real passion for wrestling. Still, Big Justice humorously mused about a world where he might have to choose between wearing AEW gold or enjoying a Chicken Bake. “It is a tough choice,” he said, pondering. “Chicken Bakes are only $3.” To which AJ added, “World Champions earn a lot.” After a brief pause, Big Justice made his choice: “Chicken Bake!”

AJ and Big Justice, known as the Costco Guys, have certainly carved out a niche for themselves in the wrestling world, and they’re set to appear in an upcoming AEW match, though details are still under wraps.
