The 'Genocide' Has Ended. Why Is No One Celebrating?

Greetings, everyone. Welcome back to State of the Day, where I aim to give you the news without any fluff—just the facts.

So, have you heard about Trump’s latest achievement? He has declared an end to a “genocide.”

DONALD TRUMP, PEACEMAKER

For now, the conflict between Israel and Hamas has come to a halt. Israeli hostages have been released once again. It seems like there’s a temporary peace in the Middle East, at least for the time being.

At the center of this situation is President Donald Trump, who managed to gather both Arab and Israeli support through a mix of assertiveness and risk-taking, paving the way for a ceasefire.

David Ignatius from The Washington Post, who isn’t exactly a fan of Trump, laid out his thoughts on Morning Joe:

“The deal that President Trump is announcing, in which he played a significant role, marks a major shift. This war had been ongoing for two years. Preceding him, President Biden couldn’t find a resolution. Trump managed to do it by being tough with both sides. He will certainly take a victory lap in the coming days, and I think he has earned it. There’s no way this could have happened without Trump’s pressure in these final moments.”

That’s pretty clear-cut.

Interestingly, the only Democratic figure who seems to be digesting Trump’s accomplishment sensibly is Bill Clinton. Could he be the last rational Democrat left?

So why isn’t there more celebration? Why aren’t there parades? Why isn’t Trump seen as a hero among the various activists?

Didn’t he just end the “genocide” that they’ve been talking about for months?

Well, here’s a bit of unfortunate news. It was never really about the “genocide.” Honestly, they didn’t seem to care much about the people in Gaza at all.

They only seemed interested in how those deaths could be used politically. And what’s the goal?

That takes us to the heart of why I personally continue to support Israel, despite it becoming a bit challenging lately. I get it; my patience is thinning, especially when I just want to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Without getting too caught up in academic debates, let me just say this: The prevailing leftist ideology in America seems chiefly focused on dismantling Western civilization and replacing it with its own version of Marxism 2.0. This includes hyper-racialism, decolonialism, and a rejection of merit and traditional freedoms.

If you want an idea of how this elite group intends to govern, just look at how they treat anyone who holds patriotic views. It’s a bit like being a dog that must sit quietly and will be zapped back into line if it strays. We’ve seen glimpses of this over the past decade.

As a result, protecting symbols is crucial.

Whether you believe Israel represents Western civilization or not is secondary. What matters is that the radical left views it as such and wants to tear it down.

Just look at how innocent Jews are treated on college campuses. There’s a tendency for broad blame, where every white individual is held responsible for past injustices they didn’t commit.

This sort of political posture can be traced across many liberal issues.

Do you honestly think that left-wing intellectuals care about trafficking victims, for example? Are they actually housing undocumented immigrants in a true act of charity?

What about the outcomes for Black individuals who are pushed into roles they might not be prepared for? Or are they merely diversity figures discussed at social events?

And let’s consider the children affected by gender-related medical procedures. Up until recently, long-term outcome studies were almost nonexistent. At the end of the day, it appears they just want power and control, often by leveraging grievance narratives.

You won’t see any protests concerning the genocide of the Uyghurs either.

That explains the lack of cheers.

Trump has claimed to have ended a “genocide,” which also means he’s taken away a convenient tool they often used.
