Jesse J Shares Candid Video Following Surgery
Pop star Jesse J, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, recently posted a heartfelt video after having surgery amid her breast cancer diagnosis just weeks ago.
The “Bang Bang” artist has been updating her fans on her health journey, mentioning that she’s home now, taking time to “rest and wait for my results.”
“This post reflects the honest highs and lows of the last 48 hours,” the 37-year-old singer shared on Instagram Monday.
She expressed gratitude for her doctor and all her family and friends who visited her during this time. Included in her post were several photos, one showing her in a hospital bed and others featuring her two-year-old sons, Sky and Channan Safir Colman.
In one video, Jesse explained to her son about the surgery and what happens afterward, saying, “So the water and blood come out of mom’s booby, it comes out of the tube and goes into the bottle.”
Another photo captured her boyfriend, Channan Safir Colman, giving her a supportive kiss on the forehead while she awaited surgery.
“I still hug everyone who’s facing tough times—we’re all in this together!” she concluded her post.
Earlier this month, in her first health update, she told fans about her diagnosis, which she received three months ago, just ahead of the release of her single “No Secrets” in late April. She pointed out the irony of it all, reflecting on how her music and health battle ironically coincided.
“It’s funny how I released ‘No Secrets’ right before ‘Living My Best Life,’ and none of it was planned with this in mind,” she noted.
After her performance at London’s Summertime Ball on June 15th, Jesse mentioned she’d take a brief break from her public engagements, saying she would “vanish a little.”
