2026 NFL Regular Season Schedule Revealed
The schedule for the 2026 NFL regular season is officially set.
Some fans are even dubbing this day as the Super Bowl for the social media teams of each franchise.
Every year, the 32 teams display their creativity, and the Los Angeles Chargers frequently spearhead this effort. This year, they didn’t disappoint, leveraging iconic video game references to inspire their drafts.
There were also some playful jabs at rivals throughout the promotions.
You can catch the complete video below, along with some standout moments from it.
Kirk Cousins’ Friend Request
In Week 2, the Chargers will be up against the Las Vegas Raiders. This segment of the video prominently features Fernando Mendoza, with a brief appearance from Kirk Cousins.
Or, perhaps we should say KirkCuzzo… via friend request.
Come Week 6, the Chargers will take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
This part of the video nods to the “Donna Kelce Modest Home Reno Bundle,” with brief mentions of ChiefsAholic scattered throughout.
LeBron Drafted Ty Simpson
As discussed earlier, it seems that LeBron James has a knack for making some rather humorous, trivial comments.
During the coverage of the Chargers’ Week 8 clash with the Los Angeles Rams, LeBron remarked about “calling” the selection of Ty Simpson.
And we can’t forget how the segment hints toward Puka Nacua being caught streaming live from the locker room.
Each video part is labeled like missions in a video game and notably includes the Chargers’ Week 10 face-off against the Baltimore Ravens.
It’s titled “Pass the Physical,” referencing the now-forgotten trade attempt involving the Ravens and Raiders for Maxx Crosby.
This segment also touches upon the missed field goal that cost the Ravens a spot in the playoffs, alongside a message from the Chargers asking to “Please take care of Jesse for us.”
“Record One Interception”
In Week 11, the Chargers will meet the Jets.
Interestingly, the Jets had a season in 2025 without a single interception.
That’s what this segment points toward, in case you’re curious.
“Conquer the Cupcake”
Finally, this is the moment everyone’s been awaiting.
In Week 12, the Chargers will challenge the New England Patriots. The video sets this part under the “Conquer the Cupcakes” mission, poking fun at New England’s notably easy schedule last season.
They did face the Chargers in the playoffs, where, to be fair, the Chargers made some mistakes.
There’s even a fun image of a T. rex, perhaps teasing Will Campbell’s smaller frame, and a cheeky reference to an ongoing narrative between Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and analyst Deanna Russini. There’s a photo of a “next photo dump 1 mile” sign, shortly followed by a notification stating “NY Post sent a message.”
Emeka Egbuka’s X Account
In March, Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka stirred the pot online by questioning the existence of CTE in a post.
Following this, the Buccaneers clarified on their platform that the account purportedly linked to Egbuka was “not owned or operated by Emeka Egbuka and is in no way affiliated with him or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
Consequently, the Chargers confirmed a few things in the video.
“Survive One Practice” and Choker
There’s been some chatter about whether the electrical substation near the 49ers’ practice area contributed to last season’s injury woes, and interestingly, it makes a cameo in the Chargers’ video as well.
And let’s not forget Chonkers, the giant sea lion that’s recently made headlines from Pier 39 in San Francisco.
At the video’s conclusion, a screen titled “The Hard Truth” appears, featuring a rather candid review from Cam Ward.
Moreover, there’s a QR code labeled “Media Misfire.” If you scan it, you’re taken to… well, honestly, there are plenty more references that could be mentioned here.
In any case, great work from everyone involved in putting this together!
