There is no clear path to avoid government closures at 12:01am on Saturday.

However, situations often speed up the issue just before the deadline at Capitol Hill.

Along with Sen. Rand Paul, who is opposed to the GOP plan, Republicans need at least eight Democrats to help them defeat the filibuster in the House Pass bill.

Senate Republicans can approve the bill themselves with a simple majority.

Senate Democrats are pushing themselves a one-month spending package. But if the Senate is ok with it, the House and Senate are out of sync. The house is now completing a week and a half session.

The Democrats are really torn apart. They don't want to support the GOP plan. They also want to make this fight a deadly hill to fight President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

But they fear that if the government is shut down, masks will try to shut down more programs and institutions.

At this stage it is difficult to see how the fight is not sucked out on Friday, if not on the Friday night before the deadline.
