Nate Frasier’s Journey with the Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs are getting ready for the upcoming season, and one of their rising stars is Nate Frasier. The young running back fondly recalls his first handoff in college football, a moment that caught him off guard. Originally from Compton, California, he didn’t expect to be playing for No. 14 Clemson, but head coach Kirby Smart certainly saw potential in him.

“We’ve had players here for three years who haven’t stepped on the field yet,” Smart mentioned, referencing Frasier’s unexpected early exposure to big plays. The budding athlete remarked how, at that moment, he felt all the pressure and nerves of being thrust into SEC football.

“My heart was racing, and I couldn’t quite feel my body,” Frasier admitted with a chuckle. He recalls that the physicality of the game caused him to stumble on that first handoff. But amidst the noise and expectations, he knew he had to push through. After all, his mother wasn’t going to let him back down.

Frasier described Yomeisha Moore, his mother, as “the greatest hero.” She single-handedly raised him through thick and thin, stepping up when needed and ensuring he had support. Reflecting on her determination, he said, “Her resilience inspired me. I couldn’t give up.” He’s grateful for how she always forged paths for him despite challenges.

After what he felt was a shaky start, Frasier bounced back impressively. In his first game against Clemson, he rushed for 83 yards and scored a touchdown, showcasing his skills in a 34-3 rout. Over the 2024 season, he totaled 671 yards and scored eight touchdowns, solidifying his place in the Bulldogs’ lineup.

Looking ahead to 2025, Frasier acknowledges the growing buzz about his potential, yet he’s focused on the team and their goals. He prioritizes the upcoming SEC Championship, pushing aside thoughts about the NFL Draft for now. His mind is more on supporting his teammates and aiming for greater achievements this year.

But more than just football, Frasier plays for something larger. He represents kids back home and others in similar situations who might think their dreams are out of reach. “I want to inspire those who feel like it’s impossible,” he stated passionately. He plays for his family, too, recalling each struggle they’ve faced together and the unwavering support they’ve given him.

The Bulldogs’ journey for this season kicks off on Saturday against Marshall at Sanford Stadium, and Frasier is eager to make an impact.

Additionally, Frasier’s growing role within the Bulldogs has opened new opportunities, like his collaboration with Powerade for their “It Takes More” campaign. “I never expected to be here,” he said, excited about the partnership, which has become a staple in college athletics. As a freshman, he learned the importance of extra effort both on and off the field, emphasizing the additional time spent studying and practicing.
