The Knicks’ journey to the top of the Eastern Conference has taken a significant turn.

BOSTON

After dominating the NBA last year, there’s been a lot of talk about the Celtics becoming a dynasty.

With their main players—Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis—all in their twenties and locked into contracts until at least 2026, expectations are high. They made a significant impact, reminiscent of legends like Jalen Brunson and the Bulls under Patrick Ewing in the ’90s.

However, times have changed. Factors like luxury tax implications, increasing injuries, and regulations favoring smaller market teams mean the idea of an NBA dynasty has evolved. Many thought the Nuggets were set for the long haul after winning the 2023 title, yet they’ve struggled, even letting their coach go after another disappointing playoff exit. And what about Giannis Antetokounmpo? He reached the pinnacle but hasn’t been back since. The Warriors, once powerful, are now out of steam. The Lakers during the Shaquille O’Neal era were the last team to achieve a three-peat.

That was 25 years ago.
