1. “The Lord of the Rings” JRR Tolkien
The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-selling book series ever written.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy consists of The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.
The trilogy begins with a character named Frodo who inherits a ring from his older cousin Bilbo, which just so happens to be sought by the Dark Lord Sauron for ultimate power.
The Hobbit is a book that predates this core trilogy and provides further backstory about Bilbo.
After the author’s death in 1973, other books, mostly edited by his son Christopher, were published, providing “Lord of the Rings” fans with even more stories.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit have been adapted for the big screen. Three of his films were made based on the original stories, as well as his three “Hobbit” films, 2012’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, 2013’s The Desolation of Smaug, And The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies was produced. The 2022 TV series “Ring of Power” brought new fans into the world of “The Lord of the Rings.” The show takes place thousands of years before the events of “The Hobbit.”
2. “The Chronicles of Narnia”, C.S. Lewis
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, begins with a young girl named Lucy discovering that an old wardrobe is a magical gateway to Narnia. The Land of Snow is full of talking animals, magical creatures, and wicked witches.
As it turns out, Lucy, along with her siblings Peter, Susan, and Edmund, prove to be extremely important to the well-being of Narnia.

Fans of the first Chronicles of Narnia novel didn’t have to wait long for the second, as it was published in 1951, just a year after the first. His second book in the series is titled “Prince Caspian: Return to Narnia.”
The following year saw the arrival of “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” and “The Silver Chair” in 1953. “The Silver Chair” is the first in a series that isn’t about brothers.
In 1954, the first part of the series, The Magician’s Nephew, was released. The final book, The Last Battle, was released in 1956, chronologically about 200 years after The Siverchair.
There was also a movie adaptation of the first three books in the fantasy series. Movies named after the books on which they are based were released in 2005, 2008, and 2010.
3. “Harry Potter” JK Rowling
Harry Potter is a timeless story about a young boy whose life changes when he discovers he is a wizard.

Many of the major stories in the Harry Potter series take place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where witches and wizards learn about their powers.

The first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was released in 1997.
The remaining books in the series are: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. ” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
In 2016, JK Rowling published her eighth book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which focuses on Potter’s son Albus. This book, unlike the rest of the series, has not been made into a film, but it is the only book that has been made into a play on Broadway.

Fans of the series can visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a theme park based on the fictional world at Universal Orlando or Hollywood. In 2025, guests of the Orlando-based park will also be able to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, inspired by the Fantastic Beasts series.
4. “A Song of Ice and Fire” George R.R. Martin
A Song of Ice and Fire is a widely popular book series by George R.R. Martin.
Originally planned as a trilogy, the series has already released five volumes, with two more reportedly on the way. The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring are books meant to conclude the series, but many fans are impatient, believing that the series will never be fully completed. Martin’s last published book was A Dance with Dragons in 2011.

The first book in the series was Game of Thrones, released in 1996. His next two books, Clash of Kings and Storm of Swords, followed fairly quickly, published in 1998 and his 2000.

Five years after the “Storm of Swords”, the “Feast of Crows” occurred. This led to the last book ever released, “A Dance with Dragons.” Another book was published in 2014, The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones, but this one does not continue the story. Instead, it offers a history of the Seven Kingdoms.
The series inspired the highly successful TV show Game of Thrones, which ran for eight seasons, and its prequel series, House of the Dragon.
