Scottie Scheffler shot a 4-under 68 to put him at 9-under par after 36 holes. Solid play over the first two days of the Memorial Tournament has him three strokes ahead of Adam Hadwin, who will be in the final group with Scheffler on Saturday, heading into the weekend.
Viktor Hovlan is also at six under, but Hadwin finished significantly ahead of Hovlan, ensuring the Canadian will partner Scheffler in Saturday’s final pairing. Other notable players atop the leaderboard include Christian Bezuidenhout and Keegan Bradley, both at five under at the halfway point.
Ludvig Oberg, who played with Scheffler in the first two rounds, battled through an even-par 72 on Friday and is playing at four under par.
Of the 52 competitors who qualified, only 19 will start the third round in the red. High winds caused havoc at Muirfield Village but Scheffler didn’t seem to face any problems.
