The Miami Dolphins are in a strange place that is entering 2025. After missing out on the playoffs for the first time during his time at Mike McDaniel, Dolphins ask more questions about the roster than the answers. Star WR Tyreek Hill might leave. Working on Tarron Armstead could lead to retirements in previous offseasons, with multiple core players entering free agency. 2025 is considered the year of dolphins' DO or dying, so how do you address your needs in the NFL Draft? This is how I rank their needs.
1. Internal attack line
Dolphins are one of the most physical teams up ahead of time in the entire Mike McDaniel era. They can't get any pushes between tackles, which hurts them in playoffs where short yard situations and yard crushing becomes essential. On top of that, ensuring that QB Tua Tagovailoa remains upright remains a top priority for Miami.
Best Fit: Campbell, LSU, Marcus MBOW, Purdue, Clayweb, Jacksonville
2. Tight end
Because of how much dolphins live on 21 staff, they need to find a way to hide Te Jone Smith's restrictions as blockers, or another to allow them to enter a more creative formation. You need to add a tight end. None of the dolphin options in the tight endroom are very viable as blockers, so adding someone who gives the best of both worlds will help you unlock the attack.
Best fit: Tyler Warren, Pennsylvania, Gunnerhelm, Texas, Jackson Haws, Georgia Institute of Technology
3. Cornerback
If Jalen Ramsey continues to play outside, finding the second corner on the other side of him is very important. CB Cam Smith hasn't come close to what he had expected since Miami drafted him. Their depth is really lacking in the backend and is most visible in cornerbacks.
Best fit: Johnson, Michigan, Soap Level JR, East Carolina, Tomi Hill, Nebraska
4. Wide receiver
This is primarily based on the future of WR Tyreek Hill, but even if Hill returns, the Dolphins receiver room is really thin. Behind Hill and Waddle (both share a history of major injuries), the room is incompatible with both size and consistency. Anyone except TeJonnuSmith will really be hard to hold in the receiving room. If Hill leaves this need, the list will jump to the list, but for now it will be kept at 4.
Best fit: Tetaroa MacMillan, Arizona, Treharis, Ole Miss, Jaden Higgins, Iowa
