British adventurer Bear Grylls has revealed he’s working on a new book titled *The Greatest Story Ever Told*. He mentioned that his exploration of faith, particularly Jesus, is the “hardest and best thing” he’s ever undertaken, even surpassing his many adventures around the globe.
“This is the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done,” Grylls, 51, stated. He added that he would gladly trade climbing Everest, winning an Emmy, or even hosting a TV show just to write this book.
The host of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls,” who gained fame from “Man vs. Wild,” expressed that hope resides in Jesus. “I’ve always had a quiet faith,” he shared, recognizing that many are unaware of the real story of Jesus—not just the crucifixion but the entire narrative filled with love, sacrifice, courage, and friendship. He aims to present this extraordinary adventure in a concise yet theologically mindful thriller.
Earlier this year, Grylls announced *The Best Story Ever Told*, which portrays Jesus’ life in a fast-paced style. It quickly hit number one in the UK and received strong reviews.
“People of various faiths often say, ‘I didn’t know this was really God’s story.’ That’s the beauty of it—it’s historical, ‘His story,'” he remarked.
He observed how different generations engage with the book, from grandmothers sharing it with local workers to twelve-year-olds reading it on their way to school. “It’s been the greatest privilege of my life to share a story that’s larger than any of my own, because it truly is the best story,” he noted.
While writing, Grylls was particularly touched by Jesus’ first miracle—turning water into wine. “He knows that once he begins performing miracles, his journey toward Jerusalem, with all its challenges, is set in motion,” he explained. He emphasized the pivotal moment when Jesus’ mother encourages him to act, recognizing the divine in her son.
“Her words, ‘Do whatever God says,’ resonated deeply with me,” Grylls continued. He believes that faith can be quite complex, yet if God is indeed Almighty, it’s a privilege to follow His guidance. “That’s where we find peace and purpose—just do whatever God says.”
Looking ahead, Grylls is set to host *The Chosen in the Wild*, featuring cast members from *The Chosen* as they tackle outdoor challenges together. He praised the *The Chosen* team for their commitment to maintaining biblical accuracy in both his upcoming book and the new show, expressing gratitude for their collaboration.
He also recently wrapped up filming for Season 9 of *Running Wild*, but emphasized that his primary focus is his faith in Jesus above all else. “It’s been a journey with ups and downs,” Grylls reflected. “Through everything, I aim to stay connected to Him. This story is now a part of my life—it’s grown beyond me and has taken on a life of its own.”
