Fieramusca and Broussard first met in the late 2000s when they were both attending Texas Bible Institute in Columbus, Texas. The two remained friends, and in 2019 Broussard learned that he and Fieramusca were pregnant at the same time. The ex-boyfriend identified the child as his, and the FBI approached Fieramusca.
On December 20, 2019, police discovered Broussard’s body in the trunk of a car at Fieramusca’s home. According to the autopsy report, she had been strangled with a cord. However, her baby was found unharmed and returned to her father on December 23.
