The Nelons’ Autumn Nelon Streetman mourns family after plane crash

Autumn Nelon Streetman, the fourth and sole surviving member of musical group The Nelons, thanked fans for their prayers as she mourned the loss of her parents, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, and her sister, Amber Nelon Kistler, who were killed in Friday’s tragic plane crash.

“I want to thank my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be son, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark, for the prayers that have already been offered to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be son, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark,” she said. Post to Instagram Friday.

In addition to Autumn’s three family members, she is survived by her brother-in-law Nathan, and their “close friends” assistant Melody Hodges, pilot Larry Haney and his wife Melissa.

The Grammy-nominated gospel group was traveling to perform on Alaska’s Geyser Homecoming Cruise when their private jet crashed north of Gillette, Wyoming.

The exact cause of the crash has yet to be determined, but the National Transportation Safety Board told People magazine that the crash may have been caused by an “in-flight autopilot issue.”

Autumn, who is currently pregnant with her first child, thanked fans for their support in a lengthy message shared by her family’s management group.

“Jason and Kelly’s youngest daughter, Autumn, and her husband, Jamie Streetman, were taken to the hotel where artists gathered with Bill and Gloria Gaither to pray, sing, hold and support the grieving couple through thick and thin,” the obituary said.

“Autumn and Jamie will now return to live with Kelly’s brother, Todd Neron, and his wife, Rhonda, while they tackle the difficult task ahead.”

The message ended with, “Please pray for the Kistler family, the Haney family and the family of Melody Hodges.”

The quartet released their latest single, “There’s a Hole In The Heart,” on July 19, and the song’s lyric video premiered just two days before the heartbreaking crash.

The Nelons were scheduled to perform until September 2025.
