Attorney George Conway said Monday in CNN’s special coverage of former President Donald Trump’s New York trial that cable news broadcasting the details is helping President Trump politically.
Mr Conway said: I mean, they’re saying exactly the same thing. And actually, I’m trying to make a political point here. I have already made a legal claim. What a politician can point out here is, “Oh, this is a terrible remark designed to keep him out of the campaign.” Well, actually, if you look at this politically in my judgment, this is helping him politically in the following sense. It keeps him from saying all the weird stuff on TV like he did in Wildwood the other day. I wish that show in Wildwood, New Jersey had been broadcast live on this network and all the other networks so everyone could see how crazy he was. ”
He added: “This actually serves a political purpose by drawing attention away from his antics.” So. So I think a jury conviction here would change things, but I don’t think it necessarily hurts him politically at this point.”
