“Obviously, our preference desire is to have one tea for two tees (somo), and this is the troublesome balance we face,” he continued. “As they say, if you roll the dice and try to play one tee with two tees, you can easily find yourself on Monday's finish.”

Sunday players tried to play in a group of three to avoid delaying the final round even further, but lightning and rain began to fall in the area TPC Sawgrass It's around 1pm local time.

When the delay was announced, McIlroy was on the leaderboard.
He's one stroke before JJ Spaun, who is -4 under in the final round of the first 11 holes and +1 from the first 10.
