The Range We Are In Now ‘Chance that Harris Wins By Five’

Democratic strategist James Carville said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that at this stage in the race, it’s “more likely” that Vice President Kamala Harris will win by 5 points than it is that former President Donald Trump will win by a narrow margin.

“We see a different world today than we did 24 days ago, that’s clear. They’re still trying to find their footing overseas. You just have to look at the fact that the speaker of the House from Benton, Louisiana, has to tell other Republican members of the House to calm down about racism, and you know there’s a problem overseas,” Carville said.

“I hate to make predictions, but I can say right now that Harris is more likely to win by five points than it is for Trump to win by 1.5 points,” he continued.

He added: “That comes with a provisos. I’m not saying she’ll win by five points or he’ll win by one and a half points, but I think we’re in that range at the moment.”

Carville concluded, “I hate making election predictions. I think it’s still tough, but I would expect him to win by a small margin. But if anyone’s going to win by more than a small margin, it’s going to be a Democrat. I’m just saying. I’m not making predictions.”
