“This deal really reflects our belief in Kyle as the highest-paid safety in the NFL,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta mentioned to the press. “We haven’t taken that responsibility lightly. We’ve had a few players in the past reach the highest salary in their position, and it’s vital when you’re at that level.”

He continued, “Kyle demonstrates that well, and we hope he remains a key player in our defense for years to come.”

The Ravens have a rich history of strong defensive players at M&T Bank Stadium—Ed Reed, for instance, redefined the safety position. But Hamilton’s distinctive skill set truly sets him apart.

For a closer look at his performance, it’s worth noting that Hamilton was active across the board last season. Out of 1,043 defensive snaps, he played in the box 374 times, with a substantial portion of those in the slot.

His flexibility extends beyond positioning; he’s adept at stopping runs like in the first play and can fall back for coverage, showing his capability to blitz or cover the flats.
