Former ESPN anchor Jemele Hill has slammed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a “political coward” for not publicly supporting President Biden in the 2024 election.
In an exclusive interview with Fox & Friends on Friday, the actor and former WWE Superstar explained that he ultimately regrets the divisiveness caused by his support for Biden in 2020.
“Are we going to do the same thing this year? The answer is no. We’re not going to do that,” Johnson said. “Because I realized that what I caused then was and still is tearing me apart. That’s divisiveness. And that’s what drew me to it.”
Mr. Hill, who writes for The Atlantic, appeared on the Dan Le Batard Show on Monday and accused Mr. Johnson of “non-speak” over the lack of public support for Biden and his presidential nominee.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson says political parties have approached him about running for president: ‘One after another’
“That’s the most unspoken statement I’ve ever heard. And I love Dwayne Johnson. When I was at ESPN, when I asked people, when did they think that, it was their favorite Who is this person?” At the car wash, he seemed like the best person that went there in terms of how he interacted with people and how kind he was. “The Rock, or number two, would definitely be Kevin Hart,” Hill said at the time. The newsmaker will appear on several shows and interviews in quick succession on ESPN. “And that’s the kind of political meanness that, frankly, is hard to respect.”
Hill also criticized Johnson, suggesting that if he doesn’t vote for Biden, he’s indirectly endorsing bigotry.
She added: “I don’t understand how Joe Biden is such a divisive figure. What he’s against is promoting bigotry, xenophobia, and every other phobia and cause you can name. That’s what they’re literally campaigning on. Joe Biden. I don’t understand why Joe Biden has been attacked as the one who is dividing people. [Johnson] If we want to stop division, we should not appear to be aligned with the side that is only promoting division. ”

“So even though he said he was going to keep his ballot to himself, he didn’t actually do that because there’s only one other candidate for president. , unless you intend or plan to vote yourself, Mr. Donald Trump, you have made a decision to vote in favor of xenophobia, bigotry, and everything else you claim to oppose. “So I thought it wasn’t the best moment for him,” she said. “And it was so unnecessary, because I wasn’t wondering who The Rock would vote for. So why did he decide it was necessary to share it? I don’t understand.”

“As months and months went by, I started to realize, ‘Wow, that was incredibly divisive in this country.’ So now, going into this election, that’s what I’m trying to do. “I realized that there is no. My goal is to unite the country, so that’s not my intention. I believe in that in my DNA, so I don’t think I’ll get support in that spirit,” Johnson said. he told Fox News host Will Cain.
