The Sig Sauer P211 GTO, also known as The Staccato Rival

The Sig Sauer P211 GTO is a pistol introduced in 2011, known for its remarkable accuracy and smooth operation, all while being available at a significantly lower price compared to the Staccato XC.

During our visit to Staccato’s factory in Georgetown, Texas in 2021, the XC stood out as something quite unique. This pistol, also developed in 2011, is compensated, enabling even novice shooters to effectively hit targets at distances as far as 50 yards, with some even reaching out to 100 yards. What’s intriguing is that the impressive accuracy of the XC seemed to be consistently replicable.

So, how much does the XC cost? Approximately $4,300.

Now, let’s talk about the P211 GT. This is an enhanced version of the 2011, providing similar accuracy and features but at a $1,800 to $2,000 discount.

Just two weeks ago, I went shooting with some friends, and after firing around 400 rounds with the P211 GTO, one of them commented, “I really liked that Staccato.” I had to share that the real deal was a Sig Sauer P211 GTO.

Thanks to its compensated design, the P211 GTO remains steady during firing, keeping it on target for the next shot. Alongside the compensator, side vents help in gas dispersion, enhancing the pistol’s control.

The P211 GTO is equipped with a G-10 grip, an ambidextrous thumb safety, a 4.4-inch bull barrel, and a steel frame. It comes with two 21-round magazines and one 23-round magazine. It’s made for speed without sacrificing accuracy. We took it to the Scottsdale Gun Club, and honestly, we couldn’t help but smile as we hit our marks on the paper targets.

This firearm features a fixed rear sight and a fiber optic front sight, plus the frame is ready for optics installation. There’s even a Picatinny rail on the bottom for adding a light, if that’s your thing.

A gun priced over $4,000, like the Staccato XC, definitely brings something to the table with reliability and precision. However, the P211 GTO seems to match or even exceed that performance while saving you quite a bit of money.
