There’s a buzz in the air about potential trades before the NFL deadline on November 4, particularly among wide receivers. However, AJ Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles seems safe, according to reports by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Eagles have reportedly no plans to let go of Brown, even though he’s having a challenging season. Still, there’s a caveat—it could change if a game-changing offer comes along, although that seems unlikely at this point.
Brown missed the game against the Giants last Sunday due to a hamstring issue, but there’s hope he might be back on the field after the Eagles’ bye week on November 10.
Interestingly, he had a standout performance just a week ago, racking up four catches for a remarkable 121 yards and two touchdowns against Minnesota.
Now, Brown, 28, has reached over 1,000 receiving yards in five out of his six seasons in the NFL, both with the Eagles and the Titans. Currently, in his fourth year with the Eagles after being traded before the 2022 season, he’s on track to record the lowest numbers of his career in receptions and yards. He’s expressed frustration with Philadelphia’s offensive strategy throughout the season, even sharing an Instagram post recently that read, “You’re using me, but you’re not using me.”
Earlier this month, he also had a quick chat with running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Jalen Hurts, which I guess means he’s looking for some outside support. Hurts had a great game against the Vikings, but Barkley, on the other hand, is still trying to find his rhythm after a standout rookie year.
Despite some struggles on offense, the Eagles still hold a strong position at 5-2, sitting in first place in the NFC East. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, really—it’ll be interesting to see how things unfold for Brown and the team moving forward.
