Former Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf recently slammed Elon Musk for stopping to criticize Israel online and joining the racist riots currently sweeping the U.K. In a country where dissenting voices are increasingly being silenced and punished, Yousaf, who claimed Musk promotes a white supremacist ideology, instead found himself interacting with U.S. citizens who are similarly unconstrained in their ability to speak out.
Musk gave Yousaf a taste of what he got, suggesting the left-wing politician was a “super racist.”
Possible legal battle
Scottish Sunday Mail Reported Yousaf has not ruled out taking legal action against Musk over his accusations of racism, saying he is “considering all options.”
“You bastard, sue me.”
BLM Activist Aamer AnwarYousaf’s lawyer told the paper: “Anyone who uses social media should think again, even if they own the platform and believe that freedom of speech is absolute, whether in the UK or the US. With freedom of speech comes responsibility and when you break the law there are consequences, as we have seen over the past few days.”
“Elon Musk has effectively painted a target on Humza Yousaf’s back with his completely unacceptable, false and inflammatory comments,” Anwar said.
It is unclear whether Anwar similarly viewed his client’s suggestion that Musk is racist as inflammatory.
“The main issue arising from Mr. Musk’s post is how others will jump on the fire that he is clearly stoke,” the BLM lawyers continued. “If others choose to incite racial hatred against Humza or others, they should prepare to face years in prison. Social media is not a lawless place, and when conduct is criminal and harmful, they must prepare to face the full enforcement of the law.”
Musk repeated his earlier comments and challenged Yousaf to take him to court.
“He’s clearly extremely racist towards white people.” Written Musk: “Go ahead and sue me that bastard. Go ahead and make me happy.”

Yousaf then highlighted the race of those in power in Scotland at the time, noting that they were white, before saying: “That’s not enough.”
