The Jets weren't the only team in the AFC East that Davante Adams was eyeing before Tuesday's blockbuster trade.
Performing on Thursday In “Up & Adams” Newcomer Gang Green spoke about positive interest from teams, including the Jets' rival Bills, following a trade request from the Raiders this month.
“But the media reports were pretty much right. It was Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Saints…” host Kay Adams began, to which Adams replied: I handed a small piece of paper to the general manager. Those are the people who were interested. ”
The Jets were Adams' “number one choice,” and Tuesday's stunning move reunited the six-time Pro Bowl wideout with his friend and former Packers teammate, quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Las Vegas acquired a conditional 2025 third-round pick from the Jets in exchange for Adams.
Kay Adams then asked if the Chiefs, who have been plagued by injuries at the receiver position this season, were on the list.
“Negative,” Adams replied. “It was talked about, and I don’t want to sound crazy, but the Chiefs weren’t on the list.”
The Chiefs, who lost Hollywood Brown in early September and Laci Rice in Week 4, will be the Raiders' AFC West rival.
Kansas City currently leads the division at 5-0 and is aiming for its third consecutive Super Bowl title.
The Jets' offense has been energized by the addition of Adams, and the Bills, who won 23-20 against their AFC East rival on Monday night, did not sit idly by as their rival strengthened on Tuesday.
Buffalo acquired Browns receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick, sending a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick back to Cleveland.
The Bills improve to 4-2 with Monday's win and will host the Jets and Adams on Dec. 29, with the playoffs on the horizon.
Adams will make his Jets debut Sunday against the Steelers (4-2) in Pittsburgh.
