The top 10 men’s college basketball players currently in the transfer portal

Top Players in Men’s College Basketball Transfer Portal

It’s getting late in the process, but surprisingly, the list of top men’s college basketball players available on the transfer portal isn’t getting any slimmer.

Currently, ten standout players are weighing their options about where to play for the 2025-26 season.

1. RJ Lewis, SR, G (St. John’s)

Lewis, named Big East Player of the Year and a second-team AP All-American, recently stated he is focused on the NBA Draft. However, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to college basketball. Following St. John’s early exit against Arkansas, where he notably sat out the last four minutes, many believe that if he does continue his college career, he could be the most sought-after player from this year’s portal.

Standing at 6’7″, Lewis is an effective scorer and tenacious defender. His shooting, particularly from beyond the arc, remains a bit inconsistent, yet he’s still a player teams want to secure, especially with the potential for deeper tournament runs next March.

2. PJ Hagerty, JR, G (Memphis)

Hagerty, who had a strong season averaging 21.7 points per game, is currently exploring the NBA draft but hasn’t dismissed the idea of returning to Memphis. If he stays in college, there are whispers about intriguing options, even linking him to a potential future under Coach Will Wade.

3. Dallion Williams, SR, F (Texas Institute of Technology)

Much like Lewis, Williams is contemplating his decision until the May 28 deadline regarding the NBA Draft. If he opts to return, he’s expected to command a high price tag for any college team. Last season, he averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, making a splash in the NCAA Tournament with averages of 23.7 points and 6.7 rebounds over three games.

Williams is a remarkable two-way player, making him difficult to defend, no matter where he lands next.

4. Jameel Watkins, SR, G/F (Florida)

Watkins is in the thick of decision-making, having tested the NBA Draft waters after last season. Evolving into a key player in the ACC, he averaged 18.3 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 43% from the field. Known for drawing fouls, he has excelled at getting to the free-throw line.

Since transferring from VCU, Watkins has showcased his scoring abilities in both of the past two seasons, earning a spot on the second team All-ACC in 2024-25.

5. Boogie Fland, SO, G (Arkansas)

The former five-star recruit has withdrawn from the NBA Draft, making him a highly desirable player. Fland averaged 15.1 points and 5.7 assists per game until an injury against Florida sidelined him. Interestingly, Florida has been linked with his potential return to college basketball.

6. Desmond Claude, SR, G (USC)

At 6’6″, Claude had a solid season with averages of 15.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.5 rebounds, catching the attention of several prominent programs like Florida, North Carolina, Kansas, and Alabama.

7. Tyon Grant-Foster, SR, G (Grand Canyon)

The 6’7″ guard is seeking his fourth college transfer after previous stints at Kansas, DePaul, and Grand Canyon. Grant-Foster had a notable season in 2023-24, averaging 20.1 points, though injuries limited his performance last year.

8. Dr. Bradley, JR, G (Arkansas Pine Bluff)

Bradley has one of the more memorable names in college hoops and stands out as a scorer, averaging 19.6 points per game. His versatility at 6’8″ allows him to contribute in various ways, including leading his team in rebounds. Having faced some legal issues that impacted his previous season’s performance, it’s likely that his past may be a reason for his extended time on the transfer list.

9. Ven-Allen Lubin, SR, F (North Carolina)

Lubin initially entered the transfer portal intending to return to North Carolina, but his plans have shifted a bit over the past weeks. After spending a season at Vanderbilt, he’s still considering various options, having previously garnered interest from multiple schools.

10. George Kimble III, JR, G (Eastern Kentucky)

Kimble had a strong season with average points of 18.0 and made all-conference honors. Despite standing at just 6’2″, he demonstrates impressive speed and shooting ability, making him a valuable asset at a higher competition level.
