Lindsay Gottlieb Scores Another Top Recruit
USC women’s basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb has achieved a remarkable feat once again. For the third time in four years, she has landed the number one ranked recruit in the nation. This time, it’s Saniyah Hall, a standout player from the 2026 class.
On Friday, Hall confirmed her commitment to USC. She made the announcement during a segment on ESPN’s NBA, showcasing a Jordanian brand jacket that revealed the USC logo.
In a video posted on her Instagram, Hall expressed her excitement: “My journey led me to USC. As soon as I stepped onto campus, I felt like family. I’m excited to be here. This is at home. Let’s get to work. Let’s fight.”
She further mentioned to ESPN, “It felt like home. I loved all of my future teammates. The girls there are so much fun. And definitely Lindsay—she’s been so supportive, and I’ve built a relationship with her. She’s a fantastic coach.”
Hall recently showcased her talent with the U.S. national team, leading them to a gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Cup. Standing at 6 feet tall, she was named MVP of the tournament, averaging 19.9 points, along with 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.9 steals per game, helping the team maintain a perfect record of 7-0.
Her recruitment attracted interest from numerous elite programs across the country. Hall visited South Carolina and North Carolina in May, and had also toured UCLA and Ohio State before that. She received offers from several prestigious schools, including UConn, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, and TCU.
Beginning her high school career at Laurel School in Ohio, Hall spent last season at Montverde Academy in Florida, where she averaged 20.3 points per game. This upcoming season, she’ll be playing at Spire Academy in Ohio.
With Hall’s commitment, USC is set to be an exciting team to watch in the coming years. Especially in the 2026-27 season, when Hall will join fellow recruits Jazzy Davidson, Juju Watkins, and Kennedysmith.
