Skytrax, known for evaluating air transport, announced the top airline for 2025. Qatar Airways has once again claimed the title, while American carriers found it challenging to soar to the top.
Often referred to as the Oscars of aviation, the 2025 World Airline Awards took place on June 17 at the Paris Air Show, hosted in the city’s Aerospace Museum.
The results came from a Global Passenger Satisfaction Survey held between September 2024 and May 2025, with participants from over 100 countries selecting winners from 325 airlines.
“We were thrilled to see so many past winners as well as newcomers at the event,” commented Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. “The list of awardees reflects how passengers recognize consistent quality in these airlines.”
Qatar Airways, for the ninth consecutive year, stands out among Middle Eastern airlines.
The airline also took home the award for the best business class, highlighting the Al Murjan Garden Lounge located at Doha Airport.
Singapore Airlines secured the second spot in the ranking.
Flight attendants and pilots greeted participants during the launch of Emirates Airline’s first Airbus A350-900 aircraft on November 27, 2024, at Dubai International Airport.
On the other hand, Cathay Pacific’s crew members were seen at Hong Kong International Airport on May 7, 2025.
“Kudos to Qatar Airways for these remarkable achievements,” Plaisted added, reflecting the pride this brings to the airline’s management and workforce.
Singapore Airlines, just behind, has won the Airline of the Year award five times—a notable feat.
They also took home awards for best cabin crew and best first class, thanks to their lavish first-class suites. These suites boast 50 square feet of space, with a double bed, a 32-inch TV, and an extensive menu.
Cathay Pacific, Emirates, and ANA (All Nippon Airways) rounded out the top tier of this aviation showdown.
