“Trump is going to overhaul America's most corrupt institutions and bring them back to serving the American people. Really, hopefully by the grace of God, America will be made great again,” Stuckey says. .
Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts is similarly hopeful, excited that elements of the foundation's Project 2025 are coming to fruition despite left-wing fear-mongering surrounding a series of policy proposals.
“I wasn't surprised that the radical left overreacted, because that's what they do. Their performance theater guarantees that conservatives can actually be conservative. Roberts says.
“To be frank with Ally, what surprised me was the scale and scope of their overreaction. And clearly, at some point in the summer, especially, they thought this was going to be an Achilles heel for President Trump. ” he continues.
And the left wing is still shaking in its boots.
“They believe that Project 2025 is about you personally going into their homes, opening their drawers, stealing their contraceptives and running away. It's like this crazy fear that's out there,” Stuckey says.
Most conservatives don't like the left's obsession with sex, abortion, and pregnancy prevention, but Roberts can allay paranoid fears.
“Project 2025 is this election cycle version of what Heritage has been doing for President Reagan since 1980, and it's just a menu of conservative policies. It's actually, on some level, Ally, really boring. “That's what think tanks and public policy institutions do,'' Roberts explains.
“So the advice I'm giving, and I'm really trying to be kind to those in the political center, or even on the political left, is that everything you've heard about Project 2025 could be true. ” he added.
