'The View' characterizes the Harris interview as a reflection of all the issues facing the Democrats.

“The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin recently shared her thoughts on an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris on Stephen Colbert’s show, describing it as a representation of everything that went wrong for the Democrats after their loss in the 2024 elections.

“I was taken aback. I mean, I won’t get too strict here, but this interview seemed to encapsulate the myriad missteps following the Democratic election. I’m heading to CBS. Yes, CBS. And also CNN’s ‘Table of Fives’ this Saturday,” she remarked.

CBS had announced earlier in July that they would cancel Colbert’s late-night show at the end of the next broadcast season.

However, Colbert’s supporters suspect that the cancellation might be politically motivated, particularly after he criticized CBS’s parent company, Paramount, for cozying up to former President Donald Trump.

Griffin likened Harris’s choice to appear on Colbert’s show to, well, the announcement of “the Exploration Committee on the Titanic’s Sinking Deck.”

“He lost $40 million a year, broadcasting from the costly Ed Sullivan Theater, discussing the essence of democracy while CBS seemingly ignores American voters. It’s more about the economics of the situation and playing to a dwindling audience,” she commented.

CNN analyst Harry Enten dismissed Harris’ remarks about the flawed system during the interview. “Recently, I decided I don’t want to engage with that system again. It’s broken,” Harris stated, responding to a question about potentially running for governor in California.

Enten expressed skepticism, remarking, “I would never expect someone who’s had such a prominent political career—Attorney General, U.S. Senator, Vice President, and presidential candidate—to walk away from the system willingly.” He suggested that Harris might have assessed her prospects for the California governorship, noting that she may be the weakest frontrunner since 1992.

On Thursday, Harris disclosed plans to publish a book about her unsuccessful 2024 campaign.

In a social media video, she shared that her upcoming book, titled “107 Days,” is set for a September release, claiming it will detail what she calls “The Shortest Presidential Election Campaign in Modern History.” She expressed her belief that sharing her experiences, insights, and lessons learned could be valuable as they look toward the future.
