Sunny Hostin said Wednesday he would remove the mural from BlackLife Matter Street in Washington, DC “a bit personally.”
The co-host of “The View” discussed earlier this week with her executive producer Brian Teta about the city officially removing street art as part of “The View's.” “Behind the Table” podcast. She explained that she felt “sadness” and “devastation” due to the move, particularly due to her personal connection to the Black Life Matter movement.
“Of course, one of my closest friends is Alicia Garza, so I'll take it a bit personally.

Garza was considered one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement after sending out the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag in 2013 after George Zimmerman's innocence over the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Hostin also argued that Black Lives Matter was “the second most important civil rights movement in American history,” and that removing the murals was part of “a continuation of erasing American history.”
However, she did not blame Mayor DC Muriel Bowser for the move, but instead denounced Republicans.
“It was a horror. And you know, what was Mayor Bowser going to do with it?” Hostin replied. “Cities can't run, Washington, DC… City can't run without government funding. Without federal funding, we can't have representatives. We can't do anything.”
