The purpose of the chat, the person added, was to convince voters of the “need for independents, moderates and Republicans to prevent him from continuing in office.”
The women-led program will be hosted by the liberal super PAC Democracy First in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on October 9, and will be among a number of programs in which four women will address voters in multiple battleground states. It is said to be the first.
Cheney, Hutchison and Matthews have endorsed Harris as a presidential candidate. Mr. Griffin is not, but Mr. Griffin, a media personality, has been harshly critical of Mr. Trump in his roles as a political commentator on “The View” and CNN.
The event comes amid close races between Trump and Harris in battleground states, particularly in Pennsylvania.

A recent Fox News poll in Pennsylvania shows Harris leading Trump by just 2 percentage points among registered voters in the state, but with Harris tied at 49% among likely voters.
“Pennsylvania hasn't made a breakthrough, and we shouldn't expect it to,” said Chris Anderson, a Democratic pollster who works with Republican Daron Shaw on the Fox News poll. “Both candidates still have some way to go to gain ground, and who does a better job could determine who wins the state.”
According to the survey, the economy is a top issue for Pennsylvanians, with 71% of voters having a negative view of the economy. Mr. Trump has a 6-point advantage over Ms. Harris on this issue, but on abortion, Mr. Trump is viewed much more favorably.
