The women of “The View” secured a coveted place in history after failing to control their TDS-fueled reaction to Trump's victory during a live broadcast.
“In Finland, children in kindergartens are learning to distinguish between fake news and real news. That's what we should be teaching in this country. Teach our children tolerance, teach them to think critically.” said Joy Behar during a panel discussion following President Trump's landslide victory.
And panelist Sarah Haynes took that comment to what Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” called “banana town.”
“Well, it would be helpful if we could regulate social media, because one of the biggest offenders is D.C., and Congress can't do anything about fraudulent companies using social media,” Haines said.
“If social media was regulated, this wouldn't have happened,” Rubin said, shocked by the confession. “It's you. It's the mainstream media and the machines that have been pushing all the misinformation on us.”
But Rubin doesn't believe Haynes made the craziest comment of the night — it was reserved for Sonny Hostin.
“I'm very upset,” Hostin began. “If you look at the New York Times this morning, I think the headline was “America Makes Dangerous Choices.'' I don't think we knew what we were going to get from the Trump administration in 2016, but now we do. I did.”
“We know he has almost unlimited power, so I'm not really worried about myself. I'm not worried about my place in life. I'm also worried about the working class. I'm worried about my mother, a retired teacher. I'm worried about the elderly and their social security and health care, and I'm worried about the future of my children, especially my daughter's rights. That’s lower than me,” Hostin continued.
The fearmonger went on to explain that we now have “lower civil rights” than ever before, adding that he was “very upset that the 14th Amendment did not prevent a person who participated in the insurrection from becoming President of the United States.” “There is,” he said. ”
Hostin cited “mass deportations and concentration camps” as other concerns.
“As a woman of color, I was very excited about a mixed-race woman married to a Jewish man being elected president of this country. I don't think that had anything to do with policy. This I think it was a cultural referendum.'There's outrage in this country,' she explained.
“What we were missing were white women, about 52% of whom voted for Donald Trump. “Uneducated white women is my understanding,” she continued, adding, “So why not uneducated? Why do you think white women who didn't have the right to vote against reproductive health freedoms voted against them?' And why do you think Latinx men voted for people who would deport them?'
“I don’t think white women like being called uneducated white women,” countered Alyssa Farrar, the only sane person. “I think when you put people in this box, that’s what you get out of this race.”
