'The View' responds to Obama and Cuban critiques of the Democratic Party

Goldberg and Co-Hosts Respond to Obama’s Critique of Democrats

On a recent episode of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg expressed support for former President Obama and Mark Cuban regarding their comments about the Democratic Party. Goldberg pointed out that voters are actively engaged and that elected officials need to take responsibility for their actions.

She recalled significant marches, stating, “People weren’t being passive; they were out there questioning the policies affecting their lives.” She emphasized that the focus shouldn’t be solely on personal grievances, but rather on collective issues that impact all.

Goldberg referenced Obama, who urged Democrats on Friday to bolster their efforts through fundraising, suggesting they need more assertiveness. “Stop just being disappointed, and start doing something,” he said.

Goldberg further commented that frustration with politicians should not distract from the party’s larger mission. She remarked that voters are excited and engaged, noting that when Democrats claim disappointment, they shouldn’t lose sight of their shared goals.

Cuban, in a recent podcast, criticized the party’s approach, stating that the phrase “Trump sucks” won’t resonate as a winning strategy. He argued this focus on negativity doesn’t appeal to voters. “It’s simplistic and doesn’t capture anything meaningful,” he said.

Co-host Anna Navarro responded to Cuban’s thoughts by acknowledging that some people are frustrated, while urging Democrats to avoid relying on a single savior figure. She echoed Obama’s calls to support existing candidates actively participating in the electoral process.

Haynes supported this perspective, highlighting the need for Democrats to present clear, actionable plans, especially regarding key issues like immigration. She suggested a proactive approach in outlining common-sense solutions, rather than just reacting to past administrations.
