The war on diversity is also a war on veterans

last weekend,Millions of Americans have learnedThat the American marine band known as the “President himself” had to cancel concerts with many high school students. reason? President Trump's anti-DEI enforcement actions were banned from Marines from playing, teaching and teaching with children from various backgrounds, musicians.

Of course, that was the case at the event.Saved by American veterans People from all over the country to hold a concert with their children. It's a sad story with a redeemable end, but US Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegses continue to hold diversity and the military out of hand.

Many Americans will think that the military is a monolith and that may have been the case in the past. However, in the post-9/11 world, the US military is growing and more diverse.Over the next 25 years .

White people make up 74% of the veteran population, but that number drops to 63%. Women continue to pour into service not only for more open doors, but also for others not to pass through those doors themselves. The number of Hispanic and black veterans is also on the rise.

The racial composition of military service has little to do with the adoption of “wake” and has something to do with recruiters who discover that diversifying the American population means diversifying military recruitment. Needless to say, the relationship between race and patriotism is not correlated and has been correlated to this point.

It appears Trump and Heggs think they are, and it has both embarrassing dew and real-world influences. We can all laugh at the Department of Defense I rubbed the mentionEnola Gay's. You can roll your eyes after the air force I've recovered the courseAfter deleting the famous Tuskegee Airmen because they “wake up.” Some of you will argue that the aforementioned concerts are not really a big deal. But that's true. The military knows that in order to continue recruiting, they must recruit as much as possible.

And they must resort to sharing the stories of brave Americans who have had to overcome the challenges of serving the military. There is a strange concept in the Trump and Maga world that teaches people about discrimination, sexism and racism that will make people hate America.

A class of American veterans has proven that this is simply not the case. When Black Americans learn about Harlem's Hellfighter and Tuskegee airlines, they give pride in knowing that they are paved for them. When female service members learn about women who have broken barriers in their roles in aviation, naval orders and combat, it encourages them to break more barriers.

I can keep going many times, but there is one example where DEI education is completely illustrative of how you can't hate the US. I decided on the pentagon Remove Jackie Robinson mentionthe great Brooklyn Dodger and civil rights icon. why? That's because it was recognized as Day. Let's break it down.

Most Americans would agree that the US fought on the right side of history during World War II. Robinson went to Europe during World War II and was unable to fight on the right side of history. Robinson was wrestled while the United States fought on the right side of history during the war. why? Because they refused to sit behind a military bus.

These are two truths in American history. I think most of you want to think that when the US has done the right thing to do with fascism, there's no need to deal with the racism that Robinson experienced in military and major league baseball. Congratulations, you just woke up.

But this makes you believe that the Trump administration is the source of your concern. For some reason, is the rapidly diverse combat power reflecting the changing population of America so it is not very capable? Is teaching about veterans who have overcome an incredible situation too embarrassing to uniform future recruits?

Many of my Marines would say that the important colour is green. It's not a person, it's a uniform. They are right. But Americans need to know, now and in the future, that many brave men and women must endure so many things and overcome impossible odds.
