The White Stripes Drop Lawsuit Against Donald Trump for Using Song ‘Seven Nation Army’ During Campaign

The White Stripes band sued President-elect Donald Trump in September over the use of their song “Seven Nation Army” in a campaign video, but have reportedly dropped their lawsuit against him.

Billboard reports that the band's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on Sunday. report. In a one-sentence motion, the band asks for the lawsuit to be dismissed “without prejudice,” which means it could theoretically reinstate the complaint in the future.

This happened after he posted a video of himself boarding a jet.

Lead singer Jack White then threatened to sue Trump in a vitriolic post that barely moved.

“Oh…. Don't even think about using my music, you fascists. I'm being sued by my lawyer for this (along with 5,000 others). Margo Martin, I'm at work today. Have a great day,” he wrote, adding: You scumbag for insulting our nation's veterans in Arlington. If it means anything anymore, it should immediately lose the votes of all military families. ”

The band's lawsuit, filed in a New York court the following month, alleges that bandmates Jack and Meg White “argue about the policies and actions Trump adopted while president and proposed for his second term.” “I strongly oppose the policies and actions.” ”
