The wide receivers to focus on for fantasy football before Week 4

After the Thursday night game, fantasy football managers face some crucial decisions as they gear up for the Sunday matchups.

Are you aiming for a stable performance, or do you need a player with high potential? Perhaps you experimented with a lackluster Trey Benson this week, but now you might need to take some risks with one or two starters. On the flip side, maybe you played Marvin Harrison Jr., and he exceeded expectations. Now you’re just hoping to find someone who can reliably deliver around 10 to 12 fantasy points.

In this scenario, Packers receivers could be beneficial, especially with a promising matchup against a struggling Cowboys defense.

Green Bay’s head coach, Matt LaFleur, prefers a run-heavy strategy, which works well with running back Josh Jacobs. But, considering the offensive capabilities and occasional struggles of Dak Prescott and the Cowboys—especially now without CeeDee Lamb—this game could turn into a high-scoring affair.

Las Vegas has marked this matchup as one of the top three predicted totals, suggesting plenty of opportunities for fantasy points.

If you’re on the lookout for a solid wide receiver who might still be available on the waiver wire, Romeo Doubs could be worth considering. He has quietly cemented his role as the X receiver for the Packers, leading in snaps and coming in second for targets.

Though his start to the season has been somewhat quiet, over the past two years, he averaged 5.5 targets per game, setting career highs last season in yards per catch (13.1), yards per target (8.3), and average yards per game (46.2).

The stats may not be wildly impressive, but they show a dependable performance.

With Jaden Reed sidelined, Doubs’ workload could increase, which may enhance his value, especially in PPR formats.

If you’re aiming for ceiling plays, you might want to keep an eye on Malik Heath. He’s had his share of challenges, particularly with drops in his early seasons, but he’s seen significant growth in snaps and targets lately among the Packers receivers.

Heath has managed to take on some key responsibilities and can stretch the field, making him a viable target for quarterback Jordan Love. If you’re hoping for a big payoff, this matchup against the Cowboys’ battered secondary looks promising.

For those truly swinging for the fences, rookie Matthew Golden may be the way to go. He’s likely to face Trevon Diggs, whose size advantage is notable, but Golden’s speed could tilt the odds in his favor.

Vegas is putting the over/under for Golden’s longest receptions at over 23 yards, which is quite generous. Ending a Sunday of football with explosive plays is certainly a thrill.

While all eyes may be on Micah Parsons, don’t forget to keep watch on how Love and the Packers’ receivers dismantle Dallas’ secondary.

No matter what kind of point production you’re after, the Packers will need to capitalize.
