The Win~Dow Burger Stand Expands to Santa Monica
A beloved burger spot from Venice is set to make its mark in Santa Monica this May with its popular, budget-friendly cheeseburgers.
The Win~Dow, famous for its $4.50 cheeseburgers, began as a small walk-up window in Venice in 2019 and has quickly gained a dedicated fan base.
This new location at 930 Montana Avenue will feature a 50-seat dining area, indicating a shift towards more traditional dining while keeping its appealing prices.
Interestingly, this expansion comes at a time when Santa Monica’s dining and retail landscape is facing challenges, notably from the closure of several prominent establishments in the area.
Nearby at the Third Street Promenade, many long-standing businesses are shutting their doors, including the iconic bar, The Misfit.
At the same time, some spaces are being taken over by chain restaurants, such as Taco Bell Cantina moving into the spot vacated by a British pub that had been around for three decades.
The new Win~Dow will offer more than just cheeseburgers. Alongside specialty patties, the menu will include fried chicken sandwiches, grain bowls, and kale salads, plus treats like dipped corn and milkshakes.
A breakfast menu featuring burritos and egg-topped burgers is also on the horizon.
Designed by Klein Agency, the new space aims to blend the classic ambiance of a burger stand with a modern touch, complete with indoor and outdoor seating and artwork from LA artist KC Haxton.
This latest opening aligns with the growing trend of smashburgers making their way into Southern California’s fast-casual dining scene, with The Win~Dow emerging prominently within it.
The restaurant plans to operate from 11 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and starts serving at 9 AM during weekends, with future expansions already lined up across the region.
In addition to its original Venice location, The Win~Dow now has established branches in Santa Barbara, The Grove, Hollywood, Long Beach, and Silver Lake, all under the umbrella of American Gonzo Food Corp., which also runs concepts like Pitfire Pizza and American Beauty.
