Quinnen Williams Moves to the Cowboys

Quinnen Williams has had enough of the Jets’ ongoing struggles.

The three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle expressed his frustrations after being traded to the Cowboys before the trade deadline. In exchange, the Jets received a second-round pick in 2026, a first-round pick in 2027, and DT Maji Smith.

“I think everyone could see I was frustrated. Competing for so long and just not winning is tough,” Williams stated to the press. “Any competitor, no matter how many times they win or lose, will feel that frustration.”

His remarks really underscored his dissatisfaction with the Jets, who are struggling with a 1-7 record as they approach a Week 10 matchup against the Browns.

Drafted in the first round in 2019 and named first-team All-Pro in 2022, Williams never experienced a winning season in his seven years with the Jets.

Despite the bitterness, Williams took to social media to express his fondness for New York, thanking the Jets’ organization, teammates, and fans. He expressed deep appreciation for the support he received: “New York will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for welcoming me and providing a place to grow. Your energy made every game unforgettable.”

Even with all the ups and downs, it’s clear that Williams has a lasting connection with the city.

He has been a standout player on the Jets’ defense, accumulating 40 career sacks.

In 2025, he tallied 32 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, and three quarterback hurries.

Now, he’ll be joining a Cowboys team that currently sits at 3-5-1, coming off a loss against the Cardinals.

Interestingly, the Jets were busy on trade day, also sending star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Colts in exchange for two first-round picks and wide receiver AD Mitchell.
