Tecla’s Dominance in Wrestling Continues
Tecla, known for her bold commentary, has made quite the mark since her debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) last year. She swiftly ascended the ranks and clinched the AEW Women’s World Championship in February, defeating Kris Statlander in a dramatic strap match. Even with multiple challengers thrown at her during the Double or Nothing event, she managed to retain her title.
Recently, Tecla declared a fierce challenge to Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in anticipation of the Forbidden Door event. With confidence, she urged Stardom to bring their best game, which led to a showdown where Starlight Kid faced Tecla. The match took place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, and the atmosphere was electric.
During the match, Tecla, often confrontational, seemed to get more than she bargained for as Starlight Kid displayed impressive resilience. The Japanese wrestler focused on weakening Tecla’s knee towards the end, but the champion wasn’t about to go down easily.
Despite the powerful moves aimed at her, Tecla escaped from potentially game-ending holds and managed to maintain her status as champion. A decisive double stomp led to her victory over Starlight Kid, allowing her to keep the coveted title.
Even with Stardom’s president, Taro Okada, watching closely, Tecla didn’t hold back. After the match, she continued her taunts, even bringing out support from Sky Blue and Julia Hart. In a surprising move, Hart handed Tecla scissors, leading her to tear off Starlight Kid’s mask and display it disdainfully.
Tecla’s engagement didn’t end there; she further provoked Okada, showcasing her fierce spirit in the wrestling community.
In the end, Tecla preserved her championship title and added yet another accolade to her career.
