Tecla Poised for Title Defense at AEW Double or Nothing

New York – Tecla, the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, appears set to defend her title in a four-way match at the upcoming Double or Nothing event on Sunday.

In what promises to be an intense showdown, Tecla will face off against Jamie Hayter, Chris Statlander, and Hikaru Shida. The action kicks off with one opponent leaping over Tecla, while the others try to outshine each other, keeping the “poisonous spider” in its web, so to speak.

Statlander and Shida engaged in a fierce exchange, but it didn’t last too long. Shida struck Statlander with a kendo stick, preventing a pinning opportunity. A few moments later, things escalated when Shida slapped her tag team partner, leading to a heated fistfight.

Despite being thrown out of the match multiple times, Tecla remained patient, waiting for her chance to strike. Outside the ring, Hayter and Fern collided while attempting to execute a double clothesline.

In a pivotal moment during the match, Tecla found herself alone with Statlander, who seemed a bit out of sorts. Seizing the opportunity, Tecla delivered a brutal stomp, asserting her dominance and retaining her title.

The Austrian-born wrestler captured the championship from Statlander back in February on “Dynamite” and has successfully defended her title six times since then.

Looking ahead, what’s next for Tecla remains uncertain. After the match, she hinted at having her eye on the upcoming Owen Hart Women’s Tournament, even naming her Triangle of Madness teammate, Sky Blue, as a contender to watch.
