Incident Involving Comedian Theo Fong in Nashville
Newly released video footage shows comedian Theo Fong appearing to grab a man by the throat at a Nashville club. The incident, which took place on May 2nd, was reported by TMZ.
The video shows a man approaching Fong with a bouquet of balloons for a birthday celebration. When the man tried to speak with him, Fong allegedly reacted by forcefully pushing him away. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed that they received a complaint about misdemeanor assault and investigated the situation.
However, after looking into the matter, police decided not to take any further action, according to TMZ. Witnesses described Fong’s grip as having “crushing power.” The video captures a brief exchange between the two, with a woman who seemed to offer comfort to the man following what appeared to be a verbal argument. Fong can be seen looking at the man until the video concludes.
A source claims the man was part of a group that had been harassing Fong and had previously made hostile comments while filming him. Fong, who is also known for his podcast “This Last Weekend,” was in Nashville for his “Return of the Rat” tour, with a performance scheduled at the nearby Bridgestone Arena.
So far, Fong has not publicly commented on the altercation.
